I renovated my front yard with an enclosing fence and wanted a mailbox that would allow the mail carrier to deliver from the outside of the enclosure and allow me to get my mail from the inside, and the Salsbury 4350 was the just the ticket. The construction is sturdy, and has proven to be waterproof, even during heavy downpours. The unit is quite large, almost like a small file cabinet, so if one left town for a couple of days, it would not fill up. One thing to be aware of is that although the door used by the mail carrier is fairly large, the actual slot through which the mail is inserted is only a couple of inches tall, so this is not useful as a package drop.As for security, I'm sure that a determined thief with a large enough pry bar could get into it, but the same could be said of any mailbox constructed of sheet metal. The letter opening is narrow enough that it would not be really feasible for a thief to reach in and steal mail from it. The weakest point in it, is probably the locks. A tubular keyed cam lock would be less easily jimmied than the flat keyed cam locks that are supplied.A note about the color. I got the version that is called silver. The actual color, is really more of a light gray to blue-gray than silver. When I selected silver, I was hoping that it would be more gray than silver, but for any who actually would like silver, forewarned is forearmed.Although not cheap by any stretch, all in all for what the 4350 provides, it is one of the less expensive options available.EDIT 10/10/18 - Hving used this mailbox for a couple of years, we have discovered an annoyance with it or rather how the mail carriers use it. Quite often, the mail carriers will place mail on the outgoing mail tray rather than into the mail deposit slot. As result, the mail could simply be taken by any passerby simply by opening the door. I got around this by using some wood to block off the outgoing mail slot which forces carriers to deposit my mail into the correct slot.
